I’ve spent the last three weeks relocating my music studio to a larger space in the Shropshire AONB hills. This is to bring together the Mosses project and begin to make more complete music in response to the field recordings and photos from the Mosses, which I’m projecting onto a screen here to inspire the music-making. I’m excited to be at this stage and am imagining this will take anything from 3- 12 months to realise.
I will be sharing a more in-depth post from my recent stay at Whixall, where I hired a shepherd’s hut near the Mosses to get up before dawn and record the wonderful dawn chorus at its peak here in the U.K. It was breathtaking, and I’ve only listened to the recordings today due to relocating my workspace, so I wanted to share with you my initial process from the beginning. Look out for a dawn-chorus special post coming next week.
